Summary: vice principal at Danwon High School on the outskirts of Seoul, South Korea who was reportedly among one of more than 300 teachers and students on board the ill-fated MV Sewol passenger ferry while he was in charge of more than 325 pupils who were on the ferry excursion as part of a school field trip and feared to have lost many of the students in the South Korean ferry disaster on April 16, 2014 after he was initially rescued from the sinking ferry in the few hours before it capsized and sank with hundreds of his students trapped inside the submerged ship in what could be South Korea's worst maritime accident in 21 years.
